Dr. Stephanie Jerstad is a professor of criminology at Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on corrections, reentry barriers, and housing instability, with an emphasis on sexual offending policies. Her pioneering dissertation examined the willingness of long-term care facilities to admit individuals with a prior sexual offense conviction. Currently, she is conducting studies on the obstacles faced by such individuals in accessing long-term care and the impact of public health models on this population. Dr. Jerstad holds a Ph. D. from Southern Illinois University, a M.S. from the University of Cincinnati and degrees from Harrison College.

Stephanie is very passionate when it comes to organizational policies and state laws which limit certain groups of people from accessing long-term care when everyone should have the right to receive medical treatment, regardless of their criminal history, during their last days of life.
